Failure was never an option.
You owe it to yourself, your family, and your (future) kids to become as unrecognizably successful as possible.
Everyone dreams of living the "laptop lifestyle", working from wherever they want, doing what they want to do. But how exactly do you do that?
I can't tell you exactly how since I haven't achieved it myself quite yet, but I'm well on my way.
Since starting my online business in January of 2023, I've made just over $23,000. This is at an incredibly high profit margin, I'd guess over 90% (me not knowing the exact margin goes to show you how uneducated I am about business, yet I was still able to pull in $23,000+).
I'm here to tell you exactly what I've done to get here and how you can do the same.
I'd like to think we were all told similar things in this life.
I'd also like to think our parents didn't have malicious intent when giving us this advice.
It worked for most of them, why wouldn't it work now?
That's where the problem lies. That model of success is falling apart right in front of our faces.
How many people do you know that are miserable in their jobs?
How many people do you know that when you ask them how work is going, they respond "it's paying the bills!"
How many people do you know at your job that start every meeting with "Well, at least it's almost Friday", no matter what day it is?
How many these people are you?
It's a sad reality that we all have just accepted the advice told to us by the older generation and held it as truth.
There is no advantage to being in the middle-class of society. There is no stability, no real benefits, and no pride in just being middle-class. You're better off being dead broke while you figure out your way to the very top of society.
"But that's risky! I have no idea what I'm doing!"
News flash, neither did anyone else.
"I can't be a business owner, I'm not built for it"
Of course you're not built for it - you would already be one if you were. But, the thought leaders of our society were once teenagers with zero skills as well. You just need to learn how - develop the skills and the rest takes care of itself.
I firmly believe that if you can't find the motivation to allow your parents/family to live a life of complete and utter freedom, you are bound to lose in all facets of life.
How could you not want to look your parents in the eyes one day, give them a credit card with no limit, and tell them to quit their jobs?
Does the thought of that not light a fire under your ass?
Your parents likely sacrificed everything to allow you the opportunity to live a life 1% better than theirs. Are you really going to waste your life just scraping by in a regular job with no hope for a better future?
If you can't do it for you, do it for them. More-so if you grew up in the lower echelons of society and struggled to get by. Chances are, your parents are still struggling and they have little to no chance of ever escaping that life without your help.
Your job wouldn't care if you got stage 5 cancer tomorrow. They probably wouldn't even give you any time off. Do you think they care about your financial safety and stability?
It's harsh to say, but your job doesn't give a fuck about you. They didn't start their business to make sure you can take care of yourself, they started the business to make money.
As soon as you threaten that, they will fire you with no hesitations.
You need to decentralize your income. The only way to do that is to be the one in charge of it. You need to be the boss of your own financial future.
You can do this in a variety of ways - work as a 1099 contractor, freelance, run your own business, etc.
Once you successfully build something sustainable online, the only thing stopping you from scaling it is you - that's the best part.
I'll tell you exactly what I did and how you can too later on in this article.
You need to panic. The world is changing rapidly and there is a chance now to make insane money online.
The whole idea behind online business is simply a value exchange. If you can offer a product or service to someone that deems your cost "worth it", they will purchase it. It's that simple.
You can drop out of business school now, I just gave you business 101 for free.
Also, if you think making money online is a "scam", you're simply ignorant and will never achieve anything of sustenance.
Extreme wealth has been created online from people that simply developed the skills to do so. Look up Sam Ovens, Russell Brunson, and Iman Gadhzi if you don't believe me.
You can do it too, but only if you have an open-mind. Accept that you don't know everything - and that's okay. We were put on this earth to learn and evolve.
Being pessimistic and thinking the only way you can make a dollar in life is through employment is fleeting and discouraging. There are alternatives.
So the next logical question then comes about - "How do I offer a product or service that's 'worth it'"?
Now, I'm no millionaire, but I've made a little bit of money online since beginning my journey and I want to share how I did that with you.
I didn't even hit $10,000 in net revenue until December, 2023. However, I've since more than doubled that as of writing this article (March 2024).
This stuff isn't linear, it will most likely take a long time for your skillset to get to the point of making consistent money - and that's okay.
Let's make this actionable for you.
Here's a list of skills I can recommend:
Paid Ads
Appointment Setting
CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization)
Funnel Building
Copywriting
Sales
These all feed into each other and you'll eventually get to grips with all of them.
When I started, I learned how to do paid ads - Facebook Ads in specific. This allowed me to generate leads for businesses that have the potential of being sold.
When I first started, I did it for free for a full month and then started charging $500 a month - almost nothing. But, I was new, didn't really know what I was doing, and didn't feel right charging any more than that.
I then moved up to $1,000 per month, and then eventually landed on $1,500 per month for full service marketing and appointment setting.
Since then, I've since switched to a pay-per-appointment model - I generate the leads on my own dime, the client pays me per appointment I'm able to generate them.
I wouldn't recommend this for beginners since you have to be very good at advertising to make a good amount of money, but it's top-tier once you have your footing.
The only thing holding you back in a performance model is the amount of leads your customer can handle.
Nevertheless, there are a ton of skills available to you online, you just have to learn one and stick to it until you're an expert.
I'll break it down for you in the most simple way possible:
There's obviously a plethora of other factors (copy, offer, sales skills, etc), but that's the basics of strictly marketing.
I'd recommend you read three books on this - $100m Offers & $100m Leads by Alex Hormozi, and The Ultimate Marketing Plan by Dan S. Kennedy.
Here are links to all of those:
The easiest way that I've found to have success in selling is to truly believe in your product or service.
If you don't genuinely believe you can help someone or solve their problem, you will never persuade them to buy it.
Humans are exceptionally good at sniffing out bullshit and if you're trying to sell something to make a quick buck, they will almost certainly be able to tell.
The #1 tip I can give you is believe so deeply that you can help solve your prospects problem that your conviction does all the selling for you.
Imagine you were talking to yourself back 2009 when Bitcoin was invented. How hard would you try to sell yourself the idea that you need to invest in Bitcoin?
That's the level of conviction you need in your product/service. Have that and you'll close every single deal that comes your way.
You need to sell one product to one customer avatar. There's this common saying in business - "If you're talking to everyone, you're talking to no one".
Do some research on what types of businesses can best benefit from the skill you learned, ask yourself if you like that group of people and if you can talk their language, and then start marketing to them.
You never truly know what market will benefit most from your service, so I always suggest doing things, analyzing the feedback, and iterating based off that.
Once you find a business that's interested in your service, you've got to offer it risk-free to the business.
This is where I messed up originally - I wanted to charge right away. With no sales skills and barely knowing how to run Facebook Ads, it took me like 10 sales calls to close 1 client.
This is what I would do differently - figure out how your skill directly makes the business money and negotiate a deal where you get a percentage of the revenue.
It can be small at first, we're not looking to get rich off our first client.
The experience is what's valuable here. Signing a client that's willing to be your "guinea pig" in this stage is paramount.
You can read all the books and watch all the tutorials on your skill, but you'll learn more in your first 10-hours of performing the skill than in all the tutorials and books combined.
Don't expect to be a world class ad buyer or copywriter with your first client.
You will suck - and that's okay.
The only way to get better is to suck so much for so long that one day, you look around and you suck so little that you're actually quite good.
Pay attention to the feedback your systems and clients are giving you, iterate your processes, and fail again. Rinse and repeat until you're actually good at the thing.
Once you're actually good, you can start charging more and building a business around your skill. But that's for a later article.
Commit to doing this for the next year of your life and I promise you'll have at least made your first $10,000 online.
Now go out there and make some money.
Best of luck to you.
